The homecoming game festivities started off with a hyped girls matchup between the Lady Bulldogs (#10 in 5A, 11-7), and the Tahlequah Tigers (#6, 14-5). The Tigers proved too much to handle on a night that Skiatook struggled to score.

For the first time in two games, junior Anna Bonham was back in the lineup, adding a little more offensive firepower to Skiatook’s attack.

However, the offense still sputtered through the first quarter, falling into a 19-3 hole in the first 8 minutes.

In fact, the Bulldogs first field goal did not come until there was 5:55 left in the second quarter, when an acrobatic layup finally dropped for Kendal Schulte. Things began to look up a bit more when Schulte scored once again on the next possession, and Amber Bearden and Anna Bonham knocked down back to back threes.

Despite the flicker of hope, Tahlequah quickly extinguished this spark. Spearheaded by 20 points from Delaney Nix, the Tigers carried a 27-13 lead into the intermission and came out on top 49-30. Schulte led the Bulldogs with 9.
