SKIATOOK SHUTS OUT PIEDMONT

Skiatook shuts out Piedmont

Behind break-out games from sophomore running back TK Wilkerson and quarterback Brendon Babb, Skiatook beat Piedmont 40-0 on Friday night.

Skiatook’s first score came with 7:22 left in the first quarter after Babb completed a pass over the middle to senior Beau Wooden. Wilkerson scored the second touchdown with an 80-yard run up the middle.

Skiatook carried a 14-0 lead to the second quarter when junior defensive back Shae Garner returned an interception for a touchdown, giving the Bulldogs a 21-0 lead with 8:51 left in the half. On the next two Bulldog possessions, Laben Fisher kicked field goals, giving his team a 27-0 halftime lead.

In the second half, Babb threw deep touchdowns on back-to-back possessions, first to Jaren Knight for 70 yards and then to Billy Beyen.

“That was a great team win,” Babb said. “There were definitely points that we could improve on both sides, but it is early in the season, so that will come. All in all, it was just excellent to have such a great opening game. The defense was solid, and that makes things easy for the offense.”
