Skiatook’s scoreboard might have experienced some problems during the first quarter of opening game of the season, but the Bulldogs did not. Skiatook turned three first-quarter fumbles from Glenpool into early scores en route to a 26-0 victory.

The Bulldogs defense forced four turnovers, and the Warriors had to fight for every yard in the shutout. And the Bulldogs offense was as versatile as the defense was smothering. Skiatook moved the ball both through the air and on the ground with a committee of ball carriers.

Glenpool's biggest play of the game came early. The Warriors gained 56 yards on the second play of their opening drive. But the momentum was short-lived when a bad snap on the next play turned into a 78-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Skiatook sophomore Brian Pollard.

Glenpool lost two more fumbles in the opening quarter, setting up scores from Bulldogs quarterback Cody Evans on a 19-yard quarterback keeper and a field goal from Derek Eckenfels.

Skiatook led 16-0 at the end of the first, and another Eckenfels field goal with 9:15 left in the second made it 19-0, a score it took into the new field house at halftime.

The third quarter was scoreless for both teams, but Skiatook scored once again with 10:48 left in the game on a screen pass to Jayden Garner, who broke outside and used his speed to find the end zone.
