5A #2 Skiatook traveled to 5A #8 Glenpool on December 20th. The Bulldogs entered to dual with a 4-0 dual record looking to go 5-0 on the season. The Warriors put up a fight but it would be the Bulldogs that would come out on top with a 46 to 25 dual victory and remained undefeated.

At 106 pounds Kyle Bowman wrestled Doug Holt. The Sophomore stepped on the mat and went toe to toe with the Warrior and was able to pin him early in the third period.

At 113 pounds Trey Bowman lost by an eight to four decision to Mike Edwards. Jacob Myers wrestling at 120 pounds lost by fall to Glenpool’s Tyson Stevens and Skiatook’s Cody Francis at 126 pounds lost by an eleven to nine decision to Jace Ellis.

Returning State Champion Josh Taylor wrestling at 132 pounds saw his first action of the season. Taylor went all three periods with Glenpool’s Cayden Willingham and was able to get four takedowns and three near fall points in a thirteen to five major decision over the Warrior.

At 138 pounds for the Bulldogs was BK Seago wrestling Mason Watts. Seago and Watts went all three periods but Watts was able to come away with a four to zero decision over the young Bulldog. At 145 pounds Skiatook forfeited.

Tony Johnson wrestling at 152 pounds for the Bulldogs took on Gage Hight. The two grapplers wrestled all three periods but Glenpool’s State Runner Up was able to beat Johnson by a ten to two major decision. With that loss the Glenpool Warriors pulled ahead with a 25 to 10 lead. The Bulldogs would once again have to rely on it upper weights to pull out some bonus point wins and the victory and boy did they do that as the next six matches all ended up with Bulldog pins.

At 160 pounds Cougar Andersen was able to take down Glenpool’s Garret Wells and get nine near fall points before pinning him with seven seconds left in the first period. Richie Lee at 170 pounds pinned J.W. Stevens early in the second period and Brian Pollard at 182 pounds pinned Cade Ward at the 1:06 mark of the first period. With that win the Bulldogs pulled ahead 28 to 25 and never looked back.

At 195 pounds Hunter Hall wrestled Braxton Keams and went up six to one before pinning him late in the third period. Devin Wilson wrestling at the 220 pound slot was able to come away with a pin midway through the second period and at Heavy Weight Korbin McLaughlin pinned Shawn Fairly early in the second period.

With the upper weights taking care of business the Bulldogs were able to come away with a 46 to 25 dual victory and moved to 5-0 on the season.
