On February 1st and 2nd the Bulldogs traveled to Glenpool to wrestling in the Glenpool Warrior Classic.

The team coming off of a bye week was looking to brush up on their skills and to compete against some of the best schools in the surrounding area from 3A to 6A. The Bulldogs did just that.

After the first day they were sitting in second place as a team behind nationally ranked Broken Arrow and had six wrestlers in the Championship. After the second day ended the Bulldogs finished in second as a team and crowned one Champion.

Kyle Bowman at 106 pounds finished in sixth place. Trey Bowman at 113 pounds and Devin Wilson at 195 pounds finished in fourth place. Runner-Ups were Cody Francis 132 pounds, Cougar Andersen 152 pounds, Richie Lee 160 pounds, Hunter Hall 170 pounds and Korbin McLaughlin 220 pounds. Josh Taylor at 126 pounds was crowned the Champion.

Broken Arrow took home the team 1st place trophy with 274 points, Skiatook was second with 195.5 points and Owasso came in third with 185.5 points.

Taylor the number one seed wrestled Campbell Miller from Davenport in the first round. Taylor wasted very little time and pinned Miller late in the first period. In the quarterfinals the Bulldog wrestled Riley Campbell from Checotah and was able to pin him with seven seconds left in the first period putting the State Champion in the semifinals. In the semifinals Taylor wrestled Jace Ellis from Glenpool.

Josh was able to dominate the entire match and pulled off a twenty to one technical fall late in the third period putting him in the finals. In the Championship the Bulldog wrestled Blazik Perez from Broken Arrow. Perez gave all he had but it wasn’t enough for the mighty Bulldog as Taylor would come away with a seven to two decision over the Tiger making him the 2019 Glenpool Warrior Classic 126 pound Champion.
